Digital Nomad Visa

The Digital Nomad Visa allows individuals who work remotely and are tax residents of another country at the time of relocation to live in Cyprus.

Benefits of the Digital Nomad Visa

  • Application is possible for third country nationals;
  • Family members are granted the right to reside in Cyprus along with the applicant (without the right to work);
  • No Cyprus bank account required;
  • Possibility of extension for 2 years;
  • Remote workers are not subject to Cypriot income tax on their foreign earnings if they work from the island.

Conditions of receipt

  1. Monthly salary (contract income) of at least €3,500 after taxes.

  2. The income requirement increases by 20% for a spouse or partner, and by 15% for each child.

  • The processing time for the application is 5-7 weeks.

  • The residence permit is issued for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for an additional 2 years.

Restrictions for Digital Nomad Visa

  • Visa holders are not allowed to take up local employment in Cyprus. The Digital Nomad Visa is specifically for remote workers employed outside of Cyprus;
  • To extend the visa for two years, the applicant must continue to meet income and other eligibility requirements.

Procedure for Obtaining the Digital Nomad Visa

Entry to Cyprus

The applicant enters Cyprus on the basis of a Cypriot national visa or a Schengen visa.

Application for the Digital Nomad Visa

The application is submitted to the Migration Department of the Ministry of Migration and International Protection.

The application will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including information about employment (self-employment or work for an employer registered abroad) and income.

Obtaining the Digital Nomad Visa

Receiving a residence permit for 1 year.
