Start of applications for the naturalization examination in Cyprus

The exam assessing sufficient knowledge of key aspects of Cyprus’s modern political and social reality will take place on Saturday, July 5.

This exam is intended for third-country nationals seeking to obtain long-term resident status or citizenship in the Republic of Cyprus, in accordance with current legislation, as announced by the Examination Service of the Directorate of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (ΥΠΑΝ).

The exams will be conducted in Greek. Interested candidates can submit their applications exclusively online via the JCC Smart platform. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday, May 20, 2025, until Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Applicants must ensure that all information entered in the application exactly matches their identity card or passport, as this data will be used to communicate exam details such as location, time, and for issuing the Certificate of Success.
All valid applicants will receive detailed information about the exam, including the exam center, scheduled time, candidate number, and specific instructions, closer to the exam date.

The exam covers basic knowledge of Cyprus’s current political and social landscape, focusing on essential information rather than in-depth details.
