Extension of the deadline for filing tax returns in Cyprus!
The deadline for submitting tax returns for the year 2023 has been extended until October 31, 2024.
All individuals with income exceeding 19,500 euros before tax deductions are required to file their tax returns. This includes not only salaries but also income from real estate rentals, royalties, pensions, dividends, interest, and securities.
Failure to file the declaration on time may result in a penalty of 100 euros plus 5% of the unpaid taxes.
According to the tax department, as of June 21, 52,000 taxpayers have already submitted their declarations through the Taxisnet system, with 12,000 of them already processed. In total, around 293,500 people filed their declarations last year.
Tax returns can only be submitted electronically through the TaxisNet portal. To do this, you need to:
- Obtain a Tax Identification Number (TIC).
- Obtain a unique registration number.
- Create an account on the TaxisNet portal.
- Fill out and submit the declaration.
For further clarification, you can contact the tax authority by phone at 22308000 or by sending an email to taxisnet@mof.gov.cy.
Don't miss the deadline and submit your declaration on time!
